A severe accident on Sunday evening near the Sachi signal in New Town left three people critically injured after a motorbike collided with a toto carrying passengers. The incident occurred around 7:30 PM when the bike, allegedly breaking a traffic signal, rammed into the toto. The impact caused the motorbike to catch fire, prompting firefighters to be called to the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, the toto was heading towards Ram Mandir, carrying multiple passengers, when the motorbike, coming from the opposite direction at high speed, collided with it head-on. The crash caused the toto to overturn, severely injuring its driver and a female passenger. The bike’s rider was thrown off and sustained critical injuries. The motorbike caught fire immediately, and flames engulfed it before firefighters extinguished the blaze.
Emergency services rushed the injured to a private hospital along VIP Road, where all three are receiving treatment. The condition of the toto driver and the female passenger remains serious. The motorbike rider, who also suffered major injuries, is reported to have been traveling at a dangerously high speed.
The accident disrupted traffic at the busy intersection for over an hour before the area was cleared. The toto was heavily damaged, and the charred remains of the bike were removed from the site. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, examining potential violations of traffic rules and gathering witness statements. Authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the collision and the circumstances leading up to it.
